What Can You Actually Do?
Struggling with the question, “What can I actually do?” If you’re a parent, twenty-something out of college, or literally anyone who feels the effects of the isolation perpetuated by the ever-present domination of phones and technology, you are far from alone.
Starting a Reconnect community initiative takes away confusion when it comes to what we can actually do to aid this isolation and technology problem: create more phone-free social spaces in your community.
Phone-free social spaces are the injection of presence and humanity all our communities could use.
Start a Reconnect Community Initiative
Rally all the leaders and change-makers in your area around the common goal of phone-free social spaces:
- Host phone-free backyard dinners for the neighborhood
- Organize phone-free coffee shop philosophy nights
- Collaborate with local libraries to provide phone-free spaces for youth
- Create community-led connection events tailored to your area’s needs
What does this really look like?
Meet Reconnect Massachusetts.
Reconnect Massachusetts is our flagship Initiative. We’re sparking local collective action to create phone free social spaces all throughout Massachusetts communities. Everywhere from senior centers, to local private homes outfitted for phone free events, to libraries are involved. As the pilot Reconnect community initiative our efforts in Massachusetts are paving the way and showing what’s possible when a community bands together and utilizes phone free social spaces to revitalize human connection in their area.
